Ok, so I'm a bit bored. I attacked a perfectly decent body cap with a craft knife, added some tin foil, insulating tape and stuck a UV filter on the front to stop dust getting inside. I put a hole in the foil using a No. 12 needle.

Picture #1 shows the 'lens' in place. Picture #2 shows my very first attempt at using it. For the techies out there, the exposure details are f190 @ 4 seconds (an approximation, as I used the 'one elephant, two elephant' method for determining the shutter speed).

I know it's nothing new or particularly impressive, but I got a buzz from doing it :righton:

Ha! Cool.

Do you think you can make me a 400mm f2.8 with VR when you get a chance?

I'm working on the 400mm at the moment

Brian - the brickworks at Sandy are no longer there (but there are some at Stewartby - I'm waiting for the right moment to get some night shots there).

The lunatic asylum was renamed 'Beds County Council' some time ago.

Another shot from the MK2 lens (I used a beercan for the aperture bit). This was a 30s exposure, f190, with 4 bursts of full power from a SB24 flash. Gold-toned using PSCS. This is fun!
