Warning: The second time I unscrewed the Fuji S2's plastic PC terminal cap, the PC terminal came out too! I wasn't watching until I noticed that I was holding a little chunk of metal attached by fine wire(s). I carefully screwed the terminal back in with my fingers, then used a PC cord to turn it all the way in. I think it is in pretty tight now, but can't be sure. It still works (400+ PC sync flash shots this week without error). I will not screw that PC cap in for fear of ruining the terminal trying to get it back out.

I realize that the vast majority of owners have ZERO problems with their cameras. I know that casual readers may focus in on the faults of a few individual cameras and think that it relates to all the cameras of a particular make. I hate to even mention this PC terminal thing because I don't want Fuji's to "get a reputation" for having loose PC terminals, or any other rare fault.

Anyone else have this problem, or any other mechanical problem with their S2?

Thanks for the warning! I think you should probably report the problem to Fuji, in any case.

The DOF preview button fell out of my Mamiya 645/AF somewhere along the line, so these things happen, I'm sure.

Matt

I bought the "correct" screw-in PC connector to connect my pocket wizard RF remote the the S2, and darn if that S2 connector didn't start to unscrew on me.

I was watching for it, too.

Chances are the Fuji folks didn't get the recipe for securing it with loctite or whatever from the Nikon folks.

I'll put in a service call. I really don't want to send my camera back at the moment.

Regards,

Matt

My PC terminal now does not work. I think the camera will have to be returned to Fuji for a fix. To work around this broken feature, I use a Nikon AS-15 hot-shoe to PC adapter.

Yeah... I have been holding out on getting mine repaired until I get a second body. You might try that "back focus" test before you send yours in. There are a number of ways to do it but there was a suggestion on Dpreview recently about shooting a cartoon target page and then switching carefully to manual mode and backing it up an inch at a time in either direction to see if the focus improved.
