From Nikon Press Release:
Fisheye-to-Rectilinear Image Transformation With New DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm lens:
A breakthrough in advancing wide-angle digital SLR photography for all Nikon digital SLR models using Nikon's DX Format Sensor, Capture 4.0 software can automatically transform an image taken with the new AF DX Fisheye-Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED lens (offering a 180 degree diagonal angle-of-view) into a rectilinear image with about 110 degree angle-of-view (when applied horizontally). This function allows the lens to double as a useful ultra-wide angle lens, offering photographers both fisheye perspective and wide-angle capabilities in a compact, pocket-sized lens.

to see how well it works. With the 1.5 conversion factor those of us who like to shoot wide ange we suffer. I shoot a lot of interiors and am struggling to get everything I want to show with out seeming redundent. Presently using the 17-35 afs which does a good job but would like wider. Needed the range of the zoom so opted for that over the 14mm considering the price and not that much wider. The 10.5mm could be our answer providing converting it to wide ange doesn't degrade the quality of the image.

You can do the same thing using the Panorama Tools plugin for Photoshop:

And Panorama Tools is freeware.

If this works it sure beats paying over 200US for Capture 4
