I really like my S2 for the way it makes photography fun and creative (again)!

I originally bought my S2 about 1 year ago for purely practical purposes. I wanted to save time, save money, avoid travelling back and forth to the lab, buying film, scanning film, retouching scans of film, storing the film AND the digital files, etc. etc.

All those reasons for buying the camera were valid, and the camera saved me more time and money than I thought possible. In fact, I've been able to do more jobs in the same time, and make even more money than would have been possible with the traditional film camera method.

Much to my surprise, I found that by being free of the limitations and expense of film, and with the immediacy of digital results, my photographic experience is much more rewarding. I am able to try new things with the camera with virtually no risk. I can shoot an image I would never attempt with film, simply because I know that I can delete it (or save it) and it won't cost me anything. I can try new or different things, and see the results right away, which allows me to further refine my "vision" for the idea on the spot. I can let my creativity go crazy, expirement all I want, and I have a ball doing it. What used to be almost a chore, is now so quick and easy, there is nothing to complain about.

See the earlier thread along these lines. http://www.s2pro.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=628 There are many of this forums prolific members' comments there.

I feel that there is a lot to add to this forum. I am a very happy user for many reasons!

Like all other users of this thread, i'm happy with the S2. Oh it's had a problem 'went back to fuji and was sorted, everything you buy , tech/mech can go wrong, but it's sorted.

My username ''sandman'' came from the fact that i was a self employed truck driver, delivering...............you guessed it...sand.All over south east england. This gave me great possabilitys for pictures .Like Tom, and all of you ,when digital came out it was great , first i bought a coolpix, then a 6800 ,then a 602, now ,my dream a SLR digital, still got the 6800, nice little camera. But this S2's is so liberating , take em, save em, delete em, print them, all in minutes.

My next big buy are lenses to do the camera justice ,i've a sigma 17-35, a sigma ,28-300, a nikon 50mm 1.8. So now i'm looking at the nikkor 24-120 VR. I've also got a nikon 80DX flash.

I'M still learning all the little tricks to make even better pics, i'll never be as great as some of you guys out there, but i'll keep on untill i get as good as i can, this camera will undoubtably help me in this.

I'm semi retired now so i've more time take pics, but i still get on most of the building sights in london and the S.E. got to find some kind of protective cover for the S2 next.

Happy shooting
Sandman
