Black Images

Sounds like I have suffered from the black CCD problem, camera seems to function o.k. but when you check images or preview through LCD no image can be seen just 17mb of black. Having look at some of the forums it would appear to be a known fault, I have just sent the camera back to Fuji for an estimate, to see if its worth repairing, anybody had similar experiences, camera is not under warranty and has only taken about a 1000 photo's.

Hi Love (?) and welcome to the forum! You have to be talking about the S2 and as you have read here in several threads it should be fixed at no cost other than shipping.

Wow, only 1000 shots? Are you the original owner? Sounds like it died of loneliness :D Just kidding... :)

Yes it is worth fixing unless of course they charge you over 1K for repairs :eek: it is a good camera and once fixed will give you many thousands of quality shots.

Thanks for the info, feeling happier now, I'll let you know what happens. I am the second owner of this camera, I bought it off Ebay from a prof photographer who kept it as a spare camera, only had about a 100 shots fired when I bought it, it was in mint condition, you could not tell it was second hand, I've only had since September 04 hence only a 1000 shots.

In just 7 days my S20 Pro has been repaired by Fuji the CCD has been replaced free of charge, it's a shame it had to go back in the first place, but this is the kind of service we should expect from all manufactures, no arguement or fuss they just got on with the repair and sent the camera back special delivery. 10/10 to Fuji :righton:

Don't worry about us, most of us didn't know what we were doing when we first started on the S2 either. :) Maybe we can help if you have any questions on this box.

I sent mine back to NJ and expect it back sometime this coming week hope I have as good results with mine!
