I am having a problem with S2 & flash pics (Happens with the pop-up and also if I use my SB80DX). The camera settings are as follows:

ISO200
Nikon 28-105 D lens
pop-up flash up
"A"perature priority ( I like to change my depth of field when taking real portrait shots)
Speed defaults to 60
No custom camera settings.....all defaults
4 feet away (Manual says this is within the range of the pop-up flash for both f4 & f8)
Problem occurs with both Matrix or Center Weighted metering

I set up a kids toy against the wall (against the wall to elimninate background issues) and take 2 pictures. The first at F4 and the second at F8. With TTL I would assume the brightness of the toy to be identical in both but the F8 is much darker. Actually, as you go from f4, f5.6, etc. they get darker & darker.

Is anyone else having this problem or does it work for you.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Don

dbara. I get exactly the same problem. I dont see why the camera should behave like this. I think that I have a faulty one.

Mike:

Looks like it is all S2's. I have not found a single person that says it works. Go over to the flash section. I posted this there and there has been extensive response. One thing I would ask, please call Fuji and submit the problem. The more of us that call them the better off we will be. Just maybe they can fix it. It is driving me nuts.

Thanks,

Don
