Hello friends,
I have a questions I wonder. Do you think that the new Nikon 24-120 mm VR will discharge much more the S2 batteries?. I am talking about the antivibration sistem.
Best.

I shot a wedding yesterday with the 24-120 VR. I used the VR mode for about 1/4 of the images and didn't notice any significant decrease in battery life. I shot about 350 - 375 images on that camera, using the postview feature and checking several images on the lcd for longer periods of time. I have shot 60 or 70 more images today on that same set of 2000mah Lenmar batteries and they are still going strong.
I normally don't take chances with batteries dying during use and will change AA's at about 450 frames when I switch 1GB microdrives. I don't think I'll have to change that plan with the new lens.
Hope this helps,
Dan.

Bohors,
The Powerex batteries (MAHA) 2200's are probably the best out there right now (IMO). I was using my Lenmar 2000's because it was their turn in rotation. I have been slowly switching to the Powerex 2200's with the MAHA 401 chargers.
The 24-120 VR worked very well for me at yesterday's wedding. I think I'll be using it a lot.
Dan.
