My S2 arrived at long last two days ago. I've been taking quite a few pics with various lenses. I have noticed that on zooming in, there is a bright fluorescent green dot on every image. Is this dirt on the CCD, or could it be a problem with it? If it is a duff pixel, is there a limit like LCD displays that manufacturers accept as normal?
Thanks,
Iain

Iain,
My S2 does not have a green pixel in every frame. I would say that you probably have a bad pixel. A $$$ camera known for its image quality should not have a bad pixel! I would hope it is covered under warranty.
My Nikon CoolPix 950 had a green pixe whenever the LCD was spun around facing the same way as the lens (for self portraits, etc.). However, I don't think this was a bad pixel. It may have been a software/firmware problem that only appeared when the LCD monitor flipped its image over. Nikon had a firmware update that I downloaded off their website and installed into the camera. The green pixel was a know bug, that was documented in the firmware update instructions, and was fixed by the software.
