Hi Igor (and all others of course :))!

As you know. I haven't had much success in "formally" testing (shooting newspapers and stuff... ;) ) my Nikkor AIS 300/2.8 so far, but during the ten minutes the sun did show up this weekend, I took the chance and grabbed some candids of people attending a local festival.

Here are some preliminary outtakes from one frame (portrait):

Compilation of 100% crops, shot with an E-1 (equiv.focal lenght = 600mm), wide open @ f/2.8, handheld, in-camera sharpening set to zero, NO sharpening or other kind of PP!

More samples will come whenever time/weather permits. :)

Regards
Alex

Sharp indeed, though doesn't look sharper than AF version. All in all it's the same ED glass :)

very nice glass, even wide open!

Definitely a good investment.

Hi!

I'm actually VERY happy with this lens - it may not be too contrasty until maybe f/5.6, but sharpness-wise it delivers... ;)
