Ben,
Thanks for posting the montage. That looks like a popular watering hole with quite a variety of life. I like the reflective shot of the giraffe and the 4 antelope (?) the most.
Please tell us about what equipment you used: lens, tripod, exposure method, stalking technique, bait, etc.;)
I have sat out a a local water hole.... er, pond waiting for wildlife and saw nothing larger than a duck. I know there are deer around, I just don't know how to find them to photograph them.

Ben,
I came looking for this thread after hearing you had won a magazine prize. Nice shots!
What sort of antelopes are they (kudu?)
How did the S2 cope with the dusty environment? I am off to Tanzania in February so any tips would be welcome.....
Thanks
Gary

Gary,
Thanks for the compliment,
No they are called 'NYALA', they are close relatives of the KUDU,
a KUDU is less 'hairy', a Nyala is also a bit reddish, in color. The KUDU is also larger.
I must say the NYALA is the most beautiful of the antilope, they represent the diversity and culture of AFRICA, with all the different colors etc.
In tanzania I`m not sure what aqntilope you get there, they are about 3000 miles from us :)
As a matter of fact the game vary from as mush as 500 miles apart. You find diffent species of related animals, but they have adapted to survive in their 'new' environment.
As for the dust, I see that I will have to clean every 3 months. Here in South Africa, one doesn`t get Sensor Swabs or PEC PADS, so I specially imported some, FUJI S.A is pathetic to say the least, they seem to want to clean the CCD with a cloth.... No THANKS. (They did clean it once, but there was still dust left)
