Does anyone know about this? It is strikingly like the D100 one, except without the vertical shutter and the (obvious) sync port. Can they reccomend it?

Do a search on MB-16 and you'll see other posts about this item.

I saw that right after. Hrm, it might be worth it just to be rid of the 123's.

I have the modified MB-16 version and it works great! I also find it makes the camera taller and as a result it handles better.

What kind of modification does the MB-16 need to be used with the S2?

On another battery related note, I am trying to find rechargable Lithium-Ion 1.5 batteries. I found a couple with out the +cap that are 3.6 instead of 1.5.
My idea would be, to purchase a couple of replacement battery holders for the S2, and insert rechargable Lithium-Ion 1.5 batteries and make them work as a regular battery packs.
Rechargable Lithium-Ion could last up to 900 frames before they go dead.
Any ideas?

When I find these Lithium-Ion 1.5 batteries I am telling EVERYBODY!!!
In fact, some Lithium-Ion battery packs seem to be a bunde of small Lithium-Ion batteries conected.
It's just a metter of time before they are available.
If not, 2 regular rechargable Lithium-Ion 3.5 batteries may work if we have 2 "dummy" batteries in front. ( I am flirting with disaster!)
