Hi,

I want to use my SB-80DX as a slave to light the paper backdrop (white or colored) with my studio strobes. What mode and what settingsd should I use? So far, I got only some kind of dark geyish-bluish kind of result. Ugly. Of course, I understand that the color temperature of the 80DX is quite different from the studio strobes' (more blue is what I gather), but the main surprise comes from the lack of light. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We use a vivitar 285 and a peanut from BH photo for this. The 285 is about 80.00 and works very well. It has manual settings and auto, we use a light meter and set the back light to the same as or 1/2 to 1 stop over the camera. It also works well as a hair light or a rim light. We set it on a small tri pod and even take it to the church to back light the vail. We just got a SB-80 today so Im not sure how that will work yet.
