Hi all
I currently use the S1 and recently bought SB-80 to replace knackered Metz 45-CL and it works great, but limited dedicated functions. Thinking of getting the S2 (but will probably wait for S3) - is there a better range of dedication on the S2?
For example: auto aperture, auto ISO, auto zoom etc. I still have to mess around a bit, when I want more auto use with this set-up.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi Bob,
Not quite sure what you asking when you say auto ISO and auto aperature, but the SB80 should have all TTL functions with the S2. THe auto zoom head will also work with the S2...I can't remember whether or not it did with my S1. Probably the best upgrade you will get with the S2 is flash compensation ability. My S1 would not allow it at all, even when I tried to set it directly on my SB50.
Hope this is somewhat helpful.

Thanks Justin
By auto ISO, I mean does it set the ISO automatically to match the chosen ISO on the camera - I currently have to set the ISO on the flash each time I change it on the S1 and likewise with the aperture setting.
Thanks for the reply

Hi Bob,
Both the ISO and the Aperture on the SB80 will change automatically as you change them on the S2. I have had great results using the S2 / SB80 combination.

We just got the SB80 yesterday. Tonight we had a rehersal for a outdoor wedding tomarrow. As now, were going with our Vivitar 285 for the real wedding. We tried TTL and program mode and TTL and shutter and apature priority and all were poor to bad. Some pictures were blown away and the next was dark. In the studio under low light like at a reception, we ran on manual f8 and 60 on camera. And manual f8 on the flash and at the right distance it was good, but closer and farther away were bad again. Our 285s were better that this so far. We tried center weighted and matrix mode and didnt see a big differance.
Any ideas for out door and in the dark shots? any info would be great.
Shouldnt this flash be able to adjust its self for close and farther away shots like the 285s? Thanks and hoping to hear from you.
