I pre-ordered one from Toronto awhile back. One dealer here in town has gotten a few. A buddy of mine has one already. But I am still waiting.

I was just snooping over at dpreview and several people are posting samples already. They look good, but wished it had a little more of the Fuji color.

Sigh...

If the S3 was just faster- flash sync, write speed, FPS, buffer... maybe the s3.5 or so.

My shop didn't get enough in the first group to get up to number 8 on the list, so I'm still waiting for a date!

Good Morning,

Carlton, who could sleep knowing that it's flying towards me I should be awake to receive it right?

Hi Tom, Dave,

Can you believe the other 2 lists I was on much earlier (I mean months earlier) haven't notified me yet, this is Ritz the last list I got on. However I guess they were right the day I posted on the list that I ordered with them was their first day of taking orders so they either got a bunch or the woman wasn't lying saying I was very near the top.

Hay Melody,
I also placed an order with Ritz on 2-10-05. I spoke to them this morning and they had gotten 50 in and already sent them out. So . . . . . you must be in the top 50 who got one. :righton:
As for me, I was told it will take another 1-2 weeks for all the backorders to be filled.
Oh well. Keep us posted when the new toy arrives.
And oh . . . . congratulations on your new family member the D2X! :D

Hi all,
Back after a heavy heavy session of working a lot and little photography.

Glad to report that on Friday afternoon I got my new D2X. Truly great camera and well worth teh wait.
Handling is greatly improved over the D1X.
There are loads of ergonomic changes even subtle ones that improve it over the D2H.
The new CCD I have yet to push hard but I would say that the 100-800 ISO rating is real as if you gou to Hi-1 = 1600ISO then the results are not so good and the HI-2=3200ISO the results are as expected by me not really very good except that at least you have got an image captured but there is noise and some colour imbalance.

I still wait for the WT-2A that is meant to released at the same time but I have more than enough to play with.

Processing RAW files.
NikonCapture 4.2 is a dog but does produce results but the beta version (4.1i) of Bibble that I have also supports the D2X and is very quick with better colour (IMHO) than NC4.2

I'll try and get some more photos taken over the next weekend to test further.

Jonathan, does your beta Bibble have a revised feature set for Fuji S2/S3? My version, 4.1, was dreadful with RAF, something Bibble was aware of and supposedly fixing. Does 4.1i have the fix??

(hehe. say beta Bibble four times)
