I was shooting a triathlon this morning and got about 10 shots off before my camera wouldn't take any more pics. I was using a Nikkor 24mm 2.8. I took the lens off, cleaned the metal mounting area, then put it back on. It worked for three more shots and then quit again, showing the same EE message. I switched to a 50mm and then a 80-200mm and they worked flawlessly. I wonder why that happened to the 24mm, it looks perfectly clean. I think the pics came out better with the longer lenses anyway.

I doubt if anybody else has experienced the same problem, but if this happens to you, switch lenses if you can in order to keep taking pics!

Had this happen once with one of my Sigma lenses, I unlocked the A ring, rotated back through it's travel and locked it down again... and it worked. Dont know if that action was the cure, or was just a one-time quark, as it has never happened again.

Thanks for the reply europa... I haven't used the 24 since i had the problem, so it's probably still messed up. i'll put it back on and try what you did! thanks!

Hey, moving the aperture ring back and forth worked! Awesome.
