Hi all,

Have recently received my S2, i purchased it as a "Kit"..

It came with...
Sigma 28-300mm lens
Metz 54MZ3 flashgun
Lexar 256mb 24x speed CFC
Jumshot lead
Large Black sealtight Case...

I am trying to decide on a "Good" everyday lens that would be upto "wedding shot" standard photography...
But the pinch is that it also needs to be at a resonable cost... (as you can imagine, money is very tight at the moment after the purchase of the above....)

I have been informed that the Tamron 24-135 SP AD may well be what i am "after"... just wondered if anyone has this lens and your opinions please ...

Kindest regards all.

I'm using the Tamron 24-135. I find it to be an excellent lens, although I'm not an expert on lenses. ;) I read a lot of lens reviews before making my purchase and the Tamron 24-135 seems to be a great general purpose lens without too many compromises. I get slight lens flare when shooting directly into the sun (sunsets), but other than that I have absolutely no complaints. It takes sharp and colorful puctures.

Dear Shawn,

Thank you for the reply...

Have heard some good reviews about this lens... but like most things its better to here reports/comments from people that actually have one.

Looks like this is going to be my next lens.... thank you.

Then just a wide angle and the 50-500 to go... ;)

Kind regards.

I had this lens and sold it after a month. It had many issues:

Not very sharp, especially in the mid-range.

So slow, especially at 50mm and longer.

Focusing error. I'd focus it in autofocus and it was always off a few inches from when it was re-focused manually.

Flair was bad. You just can't shoot into the sun with it.

My advice: Go with a couple used primes.
