OK, so I'm looking for a little feedback. I'm getting back into photgraphy after a little sbatical. I'm new to digital as well. So, I figured I'd take a class at a local Community College, mostly to have someone giving me assignments to get the old juices flowing.
I took this shot of a Cala Lily that I got for my wife. The background is actually an old sheet. It was wrinkled and I couldn't open the apeture wide enough to blur it in-camera. So I took the image and blurred the background in Photoshop, as well as some overall corretion.
What does everyone think?

It's a very nice shot. I think you need to blur it without having a yellow blur around the leaf itself. This can be done by playing around with the layers a bit.
It is a beautiful shot though.

Corwin,
I like it. I like the colors and even the softness caused by the bluring. I like the background with a little bit of mysterious texture to it. It makes it look like an outdoor moonlit shot. If you had a perfectly smooth background, it far more sterile. I like the framing.
Keep shooting!

Thanks for the feedback. It's always good to hear that you haven't completely lost it.
Andre,
Thanks for the advice. It was my intent to blur the edges of the flower a bit to give it a soft feel, but your perspective has given me several ideas that I want to try. This is the kind of stuff I like about digital photography and a digital dark room. I can try all these things, and the only thing it costs me is a little electricity.
Thanks again to everyone.
Steve
