Just installed and tested Nikon Capture. My Nikon D70 images are looking better than I can achieve in Elements. Really impressive with JPEGs.

Boy scout that I am, I bought it from Nikon Mall. It really takes the images far beyond what I could do in Elements. It is fairly easy for me to replicate my S2 images with the D70, except for the smoothness (noise), which is higher with the D70.
Figures that Nikon would know Nikon.

you know, there's a seed of wisdom here for all of us looking towards a Canon 1DsM2, S3 or D2x. A pro shooter budy of mine with a D1x proved to me how much better and simpler Capture was for converting files. We both edited the same pic and Capture was by far superior.
And so maybe one of the things we should keep in mind regarding our next $mega-dollar$ purchase is the conversion software. Canon's supposed to be junk, CS isn't as good as Capture for Nikon and EX is better for Fuji. Half the battle is editing. As I've personally decided against ther S3, the D2x + Capture is starting to look even more attractive.

Mike,
Im totally with you on this point. Nikon is a SYSTEM of camera, software and most important the SB800 wireless iTTL. If the S3 supported iTTL, I would be first in line. Without it, DX2 is absolutely my first pick.
