Has anyone else had a problem with what seems to be burnt out pixels on the CCD chip? I have been using my S2 for two months now and count 22 pixels stuck! This number only seems to be increasing as the days progress. I know 22 out of 6 million isnt so bad, but I am getting sick of fixing this on every image. I spoke to a Fuji rep and he wants me to send it in, which I plan to do soon, but cant part with my equiptment for the time being. Does anybody know a general turnaround time from their past experience with the manufacturer?
Thanks -JRD

Mine arrived new with two. Six months later it has two more. I'll be sending it in.
22 though - ouch! Sounds like there's something seriously wrong there. Don't let them simply remap them - get them to replace the CCD or the entire camera!

JRD,
Please excuse my ignorance, but how can I determine if I too have burnt out pixels on the CCD?
Thanks for any info...

Yep... that's a good question. How do you count them? Certainly not pixel by pixel... Do you take a picture of an even colour surface, e.g. a blue sky and then look in Photoshop for dark dots or what?

After few weeks usage I did spot (by chance) a faulty pixel from my images and closer inspection did reveal other one near the first one. I did track the time of appearance and the first one was there from day one and second one came week after. These pixels are visible when zoomed in to the smooth dark colors, the pixels themself seems to be lighter with a bit greenish cast. I hope the quantity of these is not rising (like it seems to be), although I haven't especially looked them. It may be time for that now...

I have found the best way to look for burnt pixels seems to be by taking a picture with the lens cap still on. Upload that image and blow it up until the indivdual pixels can be viewed. Bad pixels will be any other color but black, but most of mine are solid and either red, green, or blue. It also helps to take the photo with the camera set to interpolate up to the bigger image. Has anyone had to deal with the process of repair/replacement by Fuji?
